Memory of Corn
I lost count of how many layers of memory and paint sit beneath the surface of this painting. The three images which emerge are a memory of my sister Judy being stuck in an inner tube, a delirious nightmare of a lion chasing me (is the lion actually an embodiment of my memories?), and the field of corn next to our house in Malverne which acted as a hiding place after I committed my many petty crimes.
