What Remains

I collaged old family photos, copies of old family letters dating back to 1935, old stock certificates from bankrupt companies that my father had bought as “penny stock,” remnants of old bank checks from my father's business. These created the ground for this piece. I sanded and incised the surface. Scraped and layered. If you look closely, you will discover various sets of eyes peeking through the layers. In some cases, you might need to squint to spot them. But they are there. They are calling me. They remain.
