The Day Helen Died
I used oil paint, collage, photo transfers, charcoal. I drew on Basquiat for a visual reference to unbearable pain, Goya for cruelty, and Kollwitz for despair and mourning. Beguiled by the lure of material success, my Dad was ultimately killed by its siren song. Goya's soldiers shooting Dad with their golf clubs.
