Hey Toots

In the Summer of 1935 Dad wrote a series of letters to Mom before they were married. He was living in Brooklyn and working in the city and Mom was up in Swan Lake with her friends. He began each letter with “Hey Toots.” The letters were filled with exuberant energy and a spirit of humor and mischief and bright futures. I collaged these letters into the painting.
