Meyer's Junk
Grandpa Meyer was a blacksmith in Russia. In America, he became a junkman. I remember seeing him hauling his wagon down Chester Street in Brooklyn and hiding on the side of a building because I was embarrassed that he was a junkman. The image of Grandpa Meyer is borrowed from Manet's painting The Rag Picker.
